A huge sweep of relief for me, Tom and Fred, in listening to this podcast. I allow myself to be infatuated with guilt when I slip backwards - "what is wrong with me? how did I lose that progress?" Funnily enough -even now, I can hear my brain going "why do you keep allowing guilt in?" so it heaps on even more shame for that! Wow. It's encouraging to know I might actually be making "progress" even when I feel I'm slipping so now I can simply say "oh shut it" whenever the guilt machine sparks up again. That is, when I remember.
I also found the symbolism of marriage in the Bible you spoke about fascinating. I hear so much about "the bible says marriage is (insert your own agenda here)..." in the media or in social situations that I've come to tune out any talk regarding the two. Perhaps now I can find some truth in the actual words.

Here are a few additional thoghts on the subject of the devil or evil:
To not resist evil does not mean to embrace inner wrongness as being okay. Hatred, violence, nervousness, depression, fury are neither good nor necessary. To not resist evil means to admit, endure, observe, study, investigate inner wrongness instead of fighting it in order to see through it, to understand that it is caused by an illusion which is not seen as an illusion. The very heart of the devil or evil is deception, trying to pass off something that is not real as being real.
Do you think that youer use of the words "I", "me", "mine", "my" refer to a self that is apart from others and the rest of life? To the extent that you are, you are impersonating the devil without knowing it. This is the most shocking fact a human being can ever face. How much of it can you take without running away?

In my experience, transcending "evil" is only attained practically within the inner transcendence of "good".
Only by nullifying the polarities is true unity realized.
It is possible to set these potentials up within by virtue of actual everyday ordinary situations. There are no other circumstances, life, death or mind. Just right now is it. Only by gradual, unhurried, sane clarification of one's intimate self can the meeting and fusion of one's own living and death energies ignite in the purification and elimination of karmic psychological momentum.
Entering the dragon's lair is just this disciplined and prepared intent to find out what it is. It is all just you. Burning away of conditioned kinetic energies results in a purity which is in itself only the refined energy with which to step forward into evolution. Only selfless higher self has access to this energy and can digest it and evolve.
Accepting evil without going along with it is a method of practice. You draw these situation into your life situations. You are their purpose. There is a technique. This is advanced work.
It is all a matter of holding fast until the right moment, and then letting go. It is not a matter of feeling, but of intent. There are no words.
